End-of-Life & Palliative Companionship

A gentle, dignified presence at life’s most tender time

Calm, unhurried companionship for the person, and steady support for those who love them — so no one has to face this moment alone.

Comfort, dignity and connection

The end of life is one of the most profound passages we ever experience. My role is simply to be there — a calm, caring presence offering comfort, companionship and quiet reassurance, so that these moments can hold as much peace, meaning and gentleness as possible.

As a doctor and caregiver, I understand this time deeply. But here, I come first as a human being — to sit with you, to listen, to ease the loneliness, and to honour each person’s wishes, values and dignity.

How I can help

  • Quiet companionship, conversation and reading together
  • Gentle reassurance and emotional presence
  • Sitting with someone so they are never alone
  • Respite — so family can rest, knowing someone caring is there
  • Overnight reassurance, by arrangement
  • A steady, trusted presence for the whole family

Supporting the family, too

Caring for a loved one at the end of life is exhausting, tender work. Families often need rest, reassurance and another pair of hands they can trust. I’m here for you as well — so you can step away and breathe, knowing your loved one is in gentle company.

ALBA Wellbeing provides companionship and emotional and practical support — not regulated nursing or medical care. I work alongside your GP, district nurses and hospice team, complementing their care with calm human presence.
